Climate Monitoring Gives You the Tools to Reduce Plant Stress And Protect Your Crop

Temperature and Humidity

Your crop is a product of its environment. The local climate has a massive impact on crop management requirements. Flora Instrument’s temperature and humidity sensors give you pinpoint measurements of your micro climate so that you can react.

They provide real time updates for heat events and cold snaps. With the Flora Cloud app, you can receive these alerts anytime, anywhere on your mobile device. This allows for quick reactions with overhead cooling or wind machines to save your crop. Flora Cloud also provides dew point data, so you can confirm you are safely harvesting and packaging your produce in the field.

Flora Cloud also collects long term data, so that you can adjust for this season’s trends and make informed decisions. Growing degree days are calculated every day so you know your precise crop and pest development stages. You use this data to accurately know when to harvest, apply pesticides and where to invest in infrastructure.

Workers lose water too. Temperature sensors at work sites can provide real time alerts of heatstroke threats and help you keep your employees safe.

Temperature Alarm

Extreme temperature events can devastate your crop, especially when they go unnoticed. Night time freezes can keep you up all night wondering if your crop is okay. Now you no longer need to wonder. Sleep easy knowing that you will get a call before you lose it all with the Temperature Alarm. Perfect for your orchard, vineyard, greenhouse, etc.

The Temperature Alarm samples the air temperature once a minute and calls you if the temperatures exceed your Flora Cloud programmed highs and lows. If you don’t pick up, your backup phone number will then be called ensuring that the emergency has been recognized.

These high and low temperature events are also logged on Flora Cloud so that you have the data to know when to be proactive.

Weather Station (Coming Soon)

Evapotranspiration (ET) values are only as good as the measurement. Often times, ET services make estimates from locations that are far away from your farm and have entirely different climates. This is especially important in locations with large differences in wind speeds and sunlight exposure.

Install a Flora Instruments weather stations at your farm to know your exact reference ET and know that the ET you are using is calculated precisely using data from your farm. Other weather variables like wind speed, temperature, humidity and more are also logged to the cloud every hour for you to make data driven decisions on.

The integrated rain gauge tells you how much rainfall you have accumulated to reduce over-irrigation and improve your profit.
